Red Star Express Plc hosted a Two-Day Basic Supply Chain Management Training over last weekend to educate Supply Chain managers working in both the private and public sectors. The training, held between Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April 2019, was organized by renowned resource center ARC-Africa Resource Centre Academy and it featured participants from different companies involved in Supply Chain management, including the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Prezzo Shed Investment Limited, University of Nigeria-Nsukka, GS1. System Nigeria Limited, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Phillips Pharmaceuticals Nigeria Limited, and the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.
The training was held at the Training Room at the Old Ewu Road building in Lagos and had facilitators from both Proctor and Gamble (P & G) and Red Star Express Plc. The facilitator from P & G was Temitope Ogunfayo (Associate Director) while Red Star Express Plc provided facilitators such as Jaiye Olafeso (Manager, Domestic Operations), Nosa Erunse (Head of Sales, Red Star Logistics), Toyin Owolabi (Manager, Service and Quality Assurance) and Olamide Taiwo (Head, Learning and Development).
Temitope Ogunfayo spoke on ‘Building an Effective Control Tower in supply chain’ while Olamide Taiwo set the tone for the Red Star presentations by educating the participants on products and services offered by Red Star Express Plc. Toyin Owolabi spoke on ‘Evaluating A Distribution Network Performance’ while Nosa Erunse delivered his presentation on ‘The Role of Distribution In Supply Chain’. The high point of the training was the presentation made by Jaiye Olafeso, who spoke at length about ‘Understanding the Distribution Network System’. His presentation steered extensive discussions among the participants.
A tour of the main Red Star Express Plc Operations Hub was organized after the presentations, with the participants expressing delight as the gesture made by the company. Most of participants stated that the training surpassed their expectations and they were looking forward to similar initiatives in the future.
