Wednesday 1st May, 2019 was a unique in Lagos State and Red Star Express Plc as the company joined in the Lagos State May Rally held on that day. The rally, which was organized by the Lagos Council, saw hundreds of people come out to celebrate the typical Nigerian worker.
The rally was held at the Agege Stadium in Agege, Lagos and saw different workers’ associations make an appearance. Among the associations present on the day were National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), and the National Union of Postal and Telecommunications Employees (NUPTE).
As a member of the National Union of Postal and Telecommunications Employees, Red Star Express Plc was represented by couriers and drivers operating in the company. Among them were Comrade Raji Shina (President, NUPTE Red Star Express Chapter), Comrade Oladele Emmanuel (Vice-President), Comrade Gbenga Fashina (General Secretary), Comrade Samuel Alfred (Assistant General Secretary), and Comrade Sunday Shodipe (Treasurer).
