Red Star Restates Commitment After Abuja Airport Closure

Nigeria foremost indigenous courier and logistics company, Red Star Express Plc have assured its clients and customers nationwide that the six weeks that the Abuja Airport will be closed for maintenance will not affects business.

Abuja is a major destination for all courier business. Most packages emanate from Lagos and other economic cities such as Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Ibadan for next day delivery to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) while others transit through Abuja to core northern states. The FCT also generates a lot of traffic in terms of shipments going to other regions which makes the Abuja Airport very vital for the smooth operations in the courier industry.

In a media chat with the Assistant General Manager (AGM) Operations and Services, Mrs. Inemesit James Okoro, she said as soon as the announcement was made on the closure of the Airport, Red Star Express put in place modalities that ensured deliveries of client’s packages before 9am without going through the Abuja Airport.

“All the air cargo options before us are routes into Abuja through Minna, or from Kaduna Airport to Abuja. Since we understand that our clients want their packages in Abuja in the morning, then this commitment cannot be met. We are out to provide Speed, reliability and ‘peace of mind’ during the six-week closure period announced by the Federal Government,” she stated.

She explained that apart from the option of land transportation, there are other jet-like air services that are done to neighbouring cities around the FCT to facilitate early morning deliveries.

In spite of this, these services, according to her, all the modalities put in place to meet commitments with clients are available at no extra cost to the customers and have been carefully designed to provide safe, fast and satisfying experience to our clients during this period.
