CUSTOMS APPRECIATES RED STAR FOR CONTINUED COOPERATION

Red Star Express Plc has been lauded for its cooperation with the Nigerian Customs Service for its cooperation, in terms of asset declaration and payment of dues. This was made know by the Area Comptroller of Muritala Muhammed International Airport Command, Dr Jane Shoboiki, during a courtesy visit by Red Star Express Plc to her office on Wednesday.

According to her, Red Star Express Plc has been diligent in its remittance of dues after declaring international shipments. She stressed that the Federal Government of Nigeria is keen to ensure that all courier operators adhere to the policies in that regard. “Red Star Express Plc has been trying, but you can much more. It is not enough to come here once in a while or when you are summoned to pay your dues. You have to be checking with us regularly because that makes our relationship less strenuous. A lot of companies haven’t been as cooperative as yours so I must commend you for that. However, you can do better” she added.

In his remarks, the Executive Director, Sales and Marketing, Red Star Express Plc, Victor Ukwat, mentioned that the company was in total agreement with the points raised by Dr Shoboiki; adding that paying dues is part of the business and is important for its operations. “We have to pay the dues. If we don’t, we cannot operate; it’s as simple as that. Not only is it necessary for our business to remain, it forms our part towards the growth and development to the Nigerian economy. If we hold back on this requirement, it doesn’t help us in any way” he stated.
