RED STAR ACQUIRES 17 TRUCKS

The management of Red Star Express Plc, last weekend, announced the acquisition of 17 new trucks to meet the company’s growing business needs and to boost its revenue drive for all the subsidiaries. The Group Managing Director, Red Star Express Plc, Sola Obabori, stated this at the recent annual Company Strategy Meeting held at the Training Facility, in Lagos.

Sola Obabori stated that due to the growing needs of the business, especially as regards the increased trucking demands encountered in recent years, the multi-million naira investment had to be done. “We have received many trucking requests over the years. Most of the time, we have not had the trucks to manage these requests. With this acquisition, we are now able to handle these requests. This step was necessary for us to take. We are delighted for this development and we cannot wait to reap the benefits of this investment.

He also revealed that three trucks will be assigned to the RS Allied Solutions division to serve its e-commerce business while one truck will be assigned to Red Star Freight to serve its business and Red Star Agro Trade Services.

The remaining 13 trucks will be given to the Red Star Logistics division to help meet its revenue targets. Red Star Logistics, under its new Divisional Managing Director, Charles Ejekam, has been charged with hitting new heights with the latest additions to their fleet. Furthermore, the investment is geared towards helping the company reach its revenue target of 12-13 billion naira by the end of the 2019/2020 financial year.
