Federal University, Dutse has partnered with Red Star Express in the provision of practical work experience and entrepreneurship for students currently at the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development.
Shehu Abdulkadi El-Yakubu is the pragmatic manager of Red Star Express in Dutse, Jigawa. The hardworking Business Administration graduate from Bayero University, Kano has been innovative with the way he handles matters relating to work and delivery activities.
Apart from this, he has also spread the news of the mile stories achieved by the company to university students across the state in order to open their minds to the various opportunities that the courier industry offers them.
The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of the Federal University, Dutse recently wrote to Red Star Express to “provide students with practical exposure in the area of entrepreneurship and SME management”.
According to Shehu, most of the students do not even know what services courier companies offer and cannot differentiate between FedEx and other courier companies.
“I allowed them access to our office and showed them what we do. I gave them practical lessons and also let them see how we can help them. Most of them aspired to travel abroad and they were happy that their transcripts are safe when sent through us.”
The collaboration between the Dutse office and the Federal University will be a continuous process.
